Hochzeitsplanung zu Zeiten von Corona

Planning a wedding during a global pandemic may sound like every couple’s worst nightmare. But before you feel overwhelmed — take a deep breath, sit back, and relax. I’m here for you! 💕

My mission is to offer you tailor-made wedding packages, so that you can still celebrate your love beautifully, even in these challenging times.

Postpone or cancel?

Planning a wedding in times of Corona isn’t easy — and cancelling your dream day after months (or years) of preparation feels devastating. You’ve invested your heart, time, and money, and cancellation could mean losing non-refundable deposits. Instead of cancelling altogether, postponing might be the better solution.

When rescheduling, set realistic expectations. Consider weekday weddings instead of weekends and look for dates outside of the high season — many venues and vendors for 2021 (and even 2022) are already fully booked.

Keep in mind that a change in season may affect your decoration, flowers, and overall colour palette. Flexibility is key — and the sooner you make adjustments, the smoother the transition will be.

Inform your guests as soon as possible

Sending out “Change the Date” cards is a simple and elegant way to keep your guests informed. What should you include? Normally, your new wedding date and location (if it has changed). If you haven’t set a new date yet, that’s fine too! Let your guests know that you’re postponing and will update them as soon as new plans are confirmed.

Have a bit more time now? Create a wedding website! It’s the easiest way to communicate directly with guests and provide real-time updates — and the best part: many platforms are free. That means you’ll also save on printing costs.

Contact your vendors

Every supplier has different rules when it comes to postponements or cancellations, so review your contracts carefully. Pay close attention to rescheduling clauses and discuss whether your deposits can be transferred to a new date.

Like many small businesses, wedding vendors have also been hit hard by COVID-19. Most will try to work with you — transferring your deposit or crediting it toward future services like floral design or catering.

If you’re forced to downsize your guest list, ask vendors about any potential penalties for reduced numbers, and see if there’s room for negotiation.

Don’t let a pandemic stop your dream wedding!
