Today’s post is a little different — it’s a personal one! 💕 I’m a #Bride2021, and yesterday was finally the big day... I went wedding dress shopping! 🤗
Like so many brides-to-be, I’ve watched countless episodes of “Zwischen Tüll und Tränen” on TV. So, even before my engagement, I already knew one thing for sure: when I buy my wedding dress, it will be from Uwe Herrmann Dresden (https://www.hochzeitsmode-dresden.de/)
The Dress
Yesterday, the day finally arrived! I went to Dresden with my parents and my fiancé (don’t worry — he wasn’t part of the actual dress fitting 😉).
We were warmly welcomed at the store, and my consultant took note of all my wishes and preferences. Then, the search for the one began.There were so many beautiful dresses — but somehow, each one had something that didn’t feel quite right. The lace was a bit itchy here, or the neckline wasn’t quite what I had imagined...After trying on the fourth dress, my wonderful consultant stepped in with two new options she had handpicked just for me. She had already figured out exactly what I had in mind — and she was spot on!And the result?
✨ I FOUND MY DRESS! ✨
The feeling was absolutely overwhelming, and yes — I admit it — tears of joy rolled down my cheeks.
Dear brides, that magical feeling really exists! 💖 When you find the one — the dress that makes you see yourself walking down the aisle — you’ll just know. It’s a moment filled with emotion, and it’s truly unforgettable.
The Suit
So why did my fiancé come along, you might ask? Because at @uweherrmanndresden, they don’t just have stunning bridal gowns and accessories — they also offer men’s suits and eveningwear.
After I found my dress, the consultant from the men’s department came to take a look at it. That way, she could choose a suit for my fiancé that would perfectly complement my gown.I shared my ideas with her, but she smiled and said, “It’s going to be something different.” My parents accompanied my fiancé to his fitting, and — as I was told — he found his perfect suit too!Apparently, it’s something completely unexpected... so I’ll let myself be surprised on our wedding day. I’ll share all the details with you after the big day!
The Rings
That was already two big milestones checked off in one day — the dress and the suit. But we weren’t done yet! Our next stop: wedding rings.At @uweherrmanndresden, you can also design and order your rings — and we were personally advised by the master jeweler himself.While he briefly stepped out, #PhilippHerrmannDresden joined us for a lovely chat and even brought us some refreshments. The consultation was excellent — we learned so many new things about materials that no other jeweler had ever mentioned before!For example: did you know that white gold loses some of its color over time? We didn’t! Platinum and palladium are much more durable. However, palladium has become quite expensive recently due to the demand in electric cars.In the end, we chose a mix of yellow gold and platinum — and then celebrated with a toast! 🥂
All in all, we had an amazing and successful day — and we couldn’t be happier! The entire team was incredibly kind and professional. The consultations were excellent, and the atmosphere made us feel completely comfortable and cared for.
We’re now more excited than ever for our wedding next year and, like so many other couples, we hope we’ll be able to celebrate just as we’ve planned.
