love story begin?\nWith the proposal. \ud83d\udc96<\/p><p>Everything I\u2019m about to share with you, I only found out afterwards \u2014 because I had absolutely no idea at the time.\nBut first, you should know something about me: I\u2019m a person who values tradition deeply.\nMaybe it\u2019s a little old-fashioned, but that\u2019s what makes it all the more touching \u2014 and you\u2019ll soon understand why.\nMy fianc\u00e9 knew exactly how important that was to me and planned something truly special.<\/p><p>So, get ready for the story. class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In February 2020, my fianc\u00e9 and I had a week off \u2014 which also happened to include our fifth anniversary.\nOf course, we wanted to take a trip, but it wasn\u2019t that easy because I had only just gotten my cast removed from my foot two weeks before.<\/p><p>Back in January, I was already brainstorming where we could go when my fianc\u00e9 said, \u201cDon\u2019t worry, I\u2019ve got something planned for us.\u201d\n\nSo, I let it go \u2014 and waited.<\/p><p>When our vacation week arrived, I still had no idea what was going on.\nBy Wednesday, I was getting a little impatient.\nWhile we were having lunch, he casually mentioned that we needed to pack our bags \u2014 we\u2019d be leaving the next morning!\nThat was when the excitement kicked in \u2014 even though I still didn\u2019t know where we were going.<\/p><p>That evening, I packed two types of outfits:<\/p><ul><li>something warm for a city trip, and<\/li><li>something really warm \u2014 just in case we were heading to the mountains.<\/li><\/ul><p>When I asked which to bring, he said, \u201cWarm clothes and something elegant.\u201d\nSo I figured we were off to a city \u2014 and I had a feeling it might be Dresden, our favourite place.<\/p><p>The next morning, we set off early.\nHe drove east and asked if I could guess our destination.\nI smiled \u2014 I knew it. We were going to Dresden.<\/p><p>When we arrived, he surprised me with a stay at the beautiful<a href=\"https:\/\/www.suitess-hotel.com\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Hotel Suitess<\/span><\/a>a 5-star hotel I can only recommend!\nWe spent that Thursday taking it slow, enjoying our city.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Friday was our fifth anniversary \u2014 and the day he had planned everything for.\nWe got up early for a lovely champagne breakfast at 8:30, and after that, spent a few hours at the zoo, one of our favourite places.<\/p><p>At lunchtime, we headed back into the city, where he surprised me with our next stop \u2014 a relaxing aromatherapy massage.<\/p><p>Afterwards, we walked through the winter market, sipping mulled wine and enjoying the festive atmosphere.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-cc1fc7b elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default eltdf-parallax-row-no at our favourite restaurant.\nStill, he told me it wasn\u2019t yet time for the \u201celegant outfit\u201d I had packed.\nAt that point, I started wondering \u2014 was I wrong to hope for a proposal?<\/span><\/p><p>After dinner, we took a walk through the beautifully lit city.\nWhen we reached the square in front of the Frauenkirche, he suddenly stopped, turned to me\u2026 and knelt down.\n\n\ud83d\udc8d The moment of all moments.\n\nHe asked me to marry him \u2014 and everything else around us disappeared.\nIt was just the two of us, in our own little world.<\/p><p>He slipped the ring onto my finger, and \u2014 it fit perfectly.<\/p><p>Afterwards, we changed into our \u201celegant outfits\u201d and went to the hotel bar, which had a stunning view of the Frauenkirche.\nThere, over a glass of champagne, he told me everything he had planned in secret.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>As I mentioned before, I care deeply about tradition \u2014 and he did everything exactly right.\nBack in November 2019, he had gone to my parents\u2019 home with flowers and a bottle of champagne to ask for my hand.\nHe even went ring shopping with my mom, bringing along one of my rings and using her hand for the size \u2014 since we wear the same size!\n\nOnly our parents knew what was happening, because he didn\u2019t want anyone to accidentally spoil the surprise. \ud83d\ude0a<\/p><p>From asking my parents\u2019 permission to choosing the perfect ring, planning a beautiful weekend in Dresden, and creating an unforgettable fifth anniversary \u2014 he truly thought of everything. <span style=\"background-color: #ffffff;\">What a proposal. \ud83d\udc95\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"background-color: #ffffff;\">\ud83d\ude0a<\/span><\/p><p>In my next blog
